THINGS I LEARNED TODAY…
Some days you learn a lot, or maybe are just reminded of things you forgot about. Today was one of those days for me and I wanted to share some quotes with you.
Several weeks ago my mom text-ed me and told me to pick up Joel Osteens book, Your Best Life Now, and to read chapter 17. Of course being in a really lackadaisical state of mind, I did not pick it up. I knew that I should, but I did not. Flooding your mind with really positive books is one of the critical steps in growing as a person.
For the past year though, I have been going through a very challenging time in my life and I have not been very motivated to pick up any books, even though I knew it would be good for me. All I can do is start with today and get back on track.
Here is what I learned from Joel’s book, Chapter 3-Raising your Level of Expectancy:
“What you expect is what you will get. If you dwell on positive thoughts then your life will move in that direction. If you continually think negative thoughts you will live a negative life.
If you expect defeat, failure or mediocrity your sub conscious mind will make sure that you lose, fail, or sabotage every attempt to push above average. That is why one of the key elements to enlarging your vision is raising your level of expectancy. You have to change your thinking before you will ever change your living.”
“It’s important that you program your mind for success; but that won’t happen automatically. When you wake up in the morning, the first thing that you should do is set your mind in the right direction. Say something such as, “This is going to be a great day. God is guiding and directing my steps. His favor is surrounding me. I am EXCITED about today!”
“If you have a vision of victory for your life, you can rise to a new level. But, as long as you have your head down, and you gaze on the ground instead of on your possibilities, you run the risk of moving in the wrong direction and missing out on the great things God wants to do in and through you. It’s a spiritual principle as well as a psychological fact: we move towards what we see in our minds. If you can’t see it, it is not likely to come to pass in your life.”
I hope that you get something out of this and enjoy these excerpts as much as I did. I am going to start expecting better things for my life, I am going to start enlarging my vision and creating my future in a big way, and I am going to start re programming my mind for success every single day. I hope you will to. Have an awesome day! cg
